Description
English: On 7 February 1967, A Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), participating in Operation “Thayer II”, conducted a search and destroy mission against the Viet Cong in the An Loa Valley, RVN, about 400 miles NE of Saigon. Troopers wear gas masks after a CS (Tear gas) grenade was thrown into a cave to flush out some Viet Cong soldiers. NARA 111-CCV-401-CC38397
