Title
A Colchester derivative brooch, dating to the 1st century A.D.
Description
English: A copper alloy colchester derivitive dating to the second and third quarters of the first century A.D. The pin is missing as is the catch plate and half of the spring. The brooch is a one piece brooch which has unfortunately suffered some damage to the bow which has resulted in the bow part of the brooch being bent forward. The wings are small and cover the remaining spring. The bow is flattened and has been decorated with a single groove running vertically down from the head towards the foot of the brooch.
