Description
English: Bud Uanna on the left doing diplomatic duty at a cocktail party in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 1961. Bud Uanna's son Steven once overheard a conversation in his father's Jeep between his father and another U.S. Embassy employee who was bad-mouthing President Kennedy. Marilyn Monroe and the Bay of Pigs were mentioned and Bud Uanna defended President Kennedy. Steven asked his father later "Is President Kennedy a good president?" His father answered "Yes, but he doesn't know what he is getting into." Steven's mother Bonnie told him years later that his father was forced out of his position at the State Department in Washington and into an embassy post.
