Description
English: A Classical Meitei colorful stone relief art sculpture of Princess Moirang Thoibi, the heroine of the Khamba Thoibi Epic (India's third longest epic after the Mahabharata & the Ramayana) - located in the Imphal - Moirang highway road in Kangleipak (Manipur); the artwork shows the princess in her regal attire for the Meitei royalties of the Kege Moirang dynasty (Keke Moilang royal family); She wears a kajenglei / kachenglei (headdress / headgear / crown / tiara), phanek (a special cloth for the lower body), phurit (a special shirt), khwangphee / khwangphi (a special waist cloth), etc. - She is considered as the Juliet (of her romance) & the Aphrodite (of her beauty) of Meitei / Meetei / Manipuri / Kanglei / Poirei people & culture. In the sculpture, she is posing as dancing the famous Khamba Thoibi Jagoi classical dance form.
