| Description |
English: In 2014 I posted photos of this location to illustrate a problem. Some people - probably traders as well as a few residents - were leaving bagged waste by the litter bin at the corner of St Loys Road and High Road Tottenham.
At the time, it looked like this practice was linked to the system where street cleaners working for Veolia - Haringey Council's waste contractors - left the filled bags next to the litter bin. So an experiment was tried, locking the purple bags in large black plastic drop boxes. The aim was to remove the unintended 'magnet' effect of the pile of purple bags. At least at this location, it seemed doubtful whether it made much difference that the "official" purple bags were in a drop box. § Read more here. |
