Summary
[edit]| Description |
English: A year after the siege of Elands River Post, a rough wall or parapet stands at the site of the battle. The wall is made of blocks and slabs of slate which the besieged soldiers had hastily thrown up as defences. In 1900, a small force composed mainly of Australians and Rhodesians had held out for thirteen days against far stronger Boer forces until a British relief column arrived. |
