English: AT-6Foak46 - A North American AT-6F-NT Texan (s/n 44-81970, from 44-81645 ... 44-82600 (EXACT MATCH) = 956 aircraft). Often in service with Fighter-, Bomber- and Recon-Wings as Support Aircraft, so-called "Hacks" in 1940s to 1960s.
Deutsch: North American AT-6F-NT Texan (TA-970, s/n 44-81970, Fertigungsblock 44-81645 ... 44-82600 = 956 Flugzeuge). Der Fortgeschrittentrainer wurde oftmals in den Jagd-, Bomber- und Aufklärungsgeschwadern der USAAF/USAF als Support Aircraft, sogenannte "Hacks" in den 1940er bis Anfang der 1960er Jahre als Übungs- u. Verbindungsflugzeug eingesetzt. Beispielsweise nutzte die Headquarters Flight der 36th Fighter Group in Fürstenfeldbruck von 1948 - 1952, sowie in Bitburg von 1953 - 1957 die AT-6F Texan s/n 44-81737, TA-737. Der ab 1948 mit T-6 Texan bezeichnete Flugzeugtyp ist auch für Giebelstadt bereits im April/Mai 1945, sowie für Fritzlar im Jahr 1946 als Begleitflugzeug für die 417th Night Fighter Squadron (417th NFS) mit Northrop P-61 Black Widow Nachtjägern nachgewiesen. |
