After the Tree's arrival, members of the Architect of the Capitol team will work feverishly to string lights and decorate the tree in time for annual lighting ceremony on the West Front Lawn. The 2016 Capitol Christmas Tree is an 80' Engelmann Spruce from the Payette National Forest in Idaho. AOC's Superintendent of the Capitol Grounds selected this Idaho gem to grace the Capitol lawn.
