Het fort Real de Bom Jesus is in 1633 vergeefs belegerd door de West-Indische Compagnie. In 1635 had de Compagnie meer succes, het fort werd veroverd en verwoest.

The Dutch West India Company laid seige to the fort of Real de Bom Jesus in vain in 1633. In 1635 the Company was more succesful: the fort was captured and destroyed.
