English: Female statuette and fragment of a second one. Pentelic marble._Found in the sanctuary of Ptoan Apollo in Boeotia. The two statuettes functioned, along with a similar third one, as supports for a perrirhanterion. Perrirhanteria were shallow basins that rested on three or four female statuettes which usually held lions on the leash or stepped on them.This statuary type originated from the East (Syria, Cyprus). Boeotian work. About the end of the 7th century B.C.
Español: Estatuilla femenina y fragmento de una segunda. Mármol pentélico. Encontradas en el santuario de Apolo Ptoo en Beocia. Las dos estatuillas funcionaron, junto con una tercera similar, como soportes para un perriranterion. Perriranteria eran cuencos poco profundos que descansaban sobre tres o cuatro estatuillas femeninas que usualmente tenían leones bajo control o estaban sobre ellos. Este tipo de estatuaria se originó en el este (Siria, Chipre). Trabajo beocio. Sobre finales del siglo VII a. C. |
