Description

Looking SSW from Falls of Ohio (below McAlpine Dam): Upper gates of dam are closed. Slough in foreground is fed by castellations (gaps) in dam near Indiana bank.

When dam had navigable pass (up to late 1950's), boats could travel beneath Indiana chute span of L&I (then Penn. RR) Bridge, seen above.

Ohio River mile 605 Clark Co., Ind. 22-Aug-2005.
