Description
English: A U.S. Navy Douglas A4D-2 Skyhawk of Attack Squadron 64 (VA-64) Det.18B "Black Lancers" is readied for launch from the aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CVS-18). VA-64 Det.18B was assigned Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 52 (CVSG-52) aboard the Wasp for a deployment to the North Atlantic from 17 February to 17 June 1962. Note that VA-64 Det.18B kept its tail code "AF" from its regular assignment to Carrier Air Group 6 (CVG-6) and did not adopt the tail code "AS" of CVSG-52.
