"Roy Mechling" tied off. . Twin screw towboat "Roy Mechling" (doc. # 501192, length 164 feet, breadth 40 feet, Nordberg FS-138-HSC diesels, 4800 hp. [repowered in 2008 with GM 16-645E7B diesels, 6140 hp.]). Built 1965 by St. Louis Shipbuilding, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri. Originally named "Roy Mechling", owned by A. L. Mechling Barge Lines, Joliet, Illinois. Transferred in 1973 to Union Mechling Corp., New Orleans, Louisiana. Transferred in 1980 to Dravo Mechling Corp., New Orleans. Sold in 1988 to National Marine, Inc., New Orleans. Leased in 1986 to Western Kentucky Navigation, Inc., Paducah, Kentucky. Sold in 1998 to American Commercial Barge Line, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Sold in 2005 to Excell Marine Corp., Cincinnati, Ohio, and renamed "Phyllis Lauder". Sold in 2007 to Marquette Transportation Co. LLC, Paducah, Kentucky. In 2008 (?), renamed "A. Steve Crowley". Still operating in 2018. . Ohio River mile 606. Louisville, Kentucky. March 22, 2001. file # a1c046. .
