Description
English: Debris is scattered about the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CV-41) after the ramp strike of U.S. Navy LTV A-7E Corsair II aircraft (BuNo 157495) of attack squadron VA-56 Champions on 21 August 1984. The aircraft exploded then tumbled down the deck and over the side, the pilot was killed. Three McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II aircraft from fighter squadron VF-151 Vigilantes are parked on the right.
