Description	A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4C Skyhawk from Anti-Submarine Fighter Squadron 1 (VSF-1) "War Eagles" is launched from the aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CVS-18) during cross-deck operations. VSF-1 was assigned to Attack Carrier Wing 7 (CVW-7) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CVS-62) for a deeplyment to the Mediterranean Sea from 30 April 1968 to 27 January 1969. Wasp, with assigned Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 52 (CVSG-52), was deployed to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea from 20 August to 19 December 1968.
