Haynes You feel as if you were within the ruins of an ancient castle at Castle Well, a largecrested spring near Castle Geyser, twenty feet in diameter, that overflows on two sides.The geyser somehow suggests an old feudal pile which would seem to indicate that it isthe father of all the geysers, as it is considered the oldest geyser in the Park. Theorifice is lined with a bright orange color, the eruptions are irregular, sometimes violentlyboiling and shooting twice its usual height. The boiling spring near here ivas afavorite spot for campers in earlier days37
