Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built in 1907, this Arts and Crafts-style house was constructed for A'delbert L. Averill. In 1983, the house became home to the Moontree Psychotherapy Center, which focused on a feminist approach to counseling for women and members of the LGBTQ+ Community, as well as educating the public and students at local schools about the danger of the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic during the 1980s. The house features a brick base, double-hung windows with decorative glass upper sash, a second story clad in stucco, hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves, a side two-story bay window with half-timbering, a brick front facade, added later, with large picture windows, and a brick and concrete front stoop. The house is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, and remains the home of Moontree today.
