Description
English: Portland Canal at L&I Bridge.

Towboat "Clay Griffin" (doc. # 567911) downbound. Ohio River mile 605. Louisville, Kentucky. 8-May-1999. File # 99e023. . Built in 1975 by Modern Marine Power, Houma, La., this boat was originally named "Ricky James" and operated by Thibodeaux Marine Service, Lafayette, La. In 1977, the boat was sold to Palmer Barge Line, Nederland, Texas, and renamed "Capt. John H. Palmer." In 1986, when it was being operated by Big Oak Towing Co., Jena, La., the boat was renamed "R. L. Shipley." In 1989, the boat was sold to Coastal Towing, Houston, and renamed "Clay Griffin." In 2002, it was sold to Kirby Inland Marine, Houston, and in 2003 renamed "Henry Soudelier." In 2004, it was sold to FMT Industries LLC and renamed "Mike Kennelly" (operated by Florida Marine Transporters, Mandeville, La.). In 2011, it was sold to M & B Pushboat LLC, Seabrook, Texas. . 6x9 cm color negative. scanned with Epson V500 flatbed scanner and Epson Scan software.
