Description: Shefaram is an Arab city in the west of the Lower Galilee with about 45,000 thousand inhabitants and a Muslim majority and a significant Christian and Druze minority.

שם: שפרעם - בית הקברות היהודי העתיק
תיאור: שפרעם היא עיר ערבית במערב הגליל התחתון המונה כ-45000 אלף תושבים ובה רוב מוסלמי ומיעוט משמעותי נוצרי ודרוזי.
הערות: בשפרעם חייתה בתקופת בית שני קהילה יהודית והיא אף מוזכרת כאחד המקומות אליהם גלתה הסנהדרין. הקהילה ידעה עליות ומורדות במהלך השנים ובמאה ה-17 בנתה בית כנסת במקום שבו, על פי המסורת, היה מושב הסנהדרין. במאה ה-18 השתלט דאהר אל-עומר על אזור הגליל ושפרעם בתוכו, והזמין את היהודים לבוא ולחדש את הקהילה בשפרעם. לשפרעם הגיעו הרב חיים אבולעפיה (השני) ותלמידיו ושיפצו את בית הכנסת.
