שם: פסגת הר חרמון - מכיוון הגליל העליון
תיאור: פסגת הר חרמון - מכיוון הגליל העליון
הערות: החרמון הוא קצהו הדרומי של הר 'מול הלבנון' ושיאו בגובה 2760 מ'. ראשו מכוסה שלג. השם העברי חרמון אולי מלשון: חרם – קודש. ההר היה קדוש בעיני תושביו הקדומים. החרמון נכבש מסוריה מלחמת ששת הימים ובמקום הוקם מוצב. שטחו כ-1,000 קמ"ר הרוב בסוריה ובלבנון, 70 קמ"ר בישראל - שמורת טבע חרמון. במלחמת יום כיפור כבשו הסורים את המוצב ולקחו בשבי חיילים ששהו בו. חרמון נכבש ע"י חטיבת גולני וכוח של חטיבה 226, חטיבת צנחנים במילואים, שכבשה את ה"חרמון הסורי". לאחר המלחמה הועבר החרמון הסורי לשליטת האו"ם.
