תיאור: שלמה אבולעפיה (1909-1865), שנודע גם בכינוי ‘מוכתר סלים’, הוא אחד מבניה המוכרים של משפחת אבולעפיה, אשר שורשיה נטועים עמוק בקרקע הארץ, מטבריה ועד רחובות, מירושלים ועד יפו. הוא נישא בשנת 1892 לרבקה לבית פריימן, בת העליה הראשונה.את ביתו ביפו בנה ב 1907.
הערות: זה הבית בו התגורר ש”י עגנון בשנים 1913-1909.את יצירת המופת ‘והיה העקוב למישור’ כתב הסופר ש”י עגנון, בעליית הגג של ‘בית אבולעפיה’, ביתם של רבקה ושלמה אבולעפיה בנווה-צדק. עגנון הגיע ארצה בשנת 1908 ומצא לעצמו מספר פתרונות דיור ארעיים עד שפגש את שלמה אבולעפיה וזה הזמינו לגור אצלו.(לוטוס הזהב)
