English: Name: Maine Friendship House Description: Maine Friendship House in the American-German colony in Jaffa עברית: שם: בית ידידות מיין תיאור: בית ידידות מיין במושבה האמריקאית - גרמנית ביפו הערות: ברחוב אורבך 10 במושבה האמריקאית – גרמנית. ב- 1866 הגיעה קבוצת בעלי מלאכה ממיין שבארה"ב כדי להתיישב, להשיב יהודים ולהביא לשיבת ישו ולבוא הגאולה. הבית הוקם ע"י מרק וונטוורת מעץ מארה"ב. קשיים גרמו למרבית האמריקאים לעזוב את הארץ. מ- 1868 רכשו חברי כת הטמפלרים את בתי המושבה. בית וונטוורת' נרכש בידי משפחת פרנק, שימש כמלון פרנק. המושבה שגשגה עד פרוץ מלחמת העולם ה2. ב 2002 רכשו את הבית ג'יין וריד הולמס ממיין, ששימרו אותו. הם פתחו את בית הידידות של מדינת מיין ובו מוזיאון תולדות המושבה האמריקאית ביפו. מיקום: יפו - תל אביב קובץ מקורי: 20230520_105939-01_optimized.jpeg |
