9348B4, Polden Hill brooch
Description
English: Cast copper alloy brooch, spring, pin and most of bow missing. Bow has a rounded D section. It is joined to the head through a bolster like moulding the edges of which is marked by rings or rouletting. There is also rouletting around the wings. Underside of wings hollowed to accomodate the coiled spring, their ends are closed by perforated discs which secured the spring. This was also held by a loop on the end of the bow.
