Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_92620_3.jpeg Notes: נוצרים רבים מאמינים שרמלה היא המקום שבו גר יוסף הרמתי, שיחד עם ניקודמוס הוריד את ישו מהצלב. בחזית אולם התפילה ניצב פסלו של יוסף הרמתי, ומימין פסלו של ניקודמוס מתנת מדריד. בפינת הכנסייה ניצב מגדל פעמונים בעל צריח מחודד, בגובה 40 מטר. הכנסייה ידועה בזכות ציור מקורי של טיציאן, המתאר את ההורדה מהצלב. הציור נתרם ב1846 על ידי מדריד. משני צידי האולם חלונות ויטראז המתארים את צליבת ישו ואת ההורדה מהצלב. בכניסה לחצר המנזר וגם על שער העץ בכנסייה ובתוכה, נמצאים סמלי המסדר הפרנציסקני בארץ ישראל.
