Looking NNW from near foot of Bingham Way. Towboat "Helen B" upbound above <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rogers_Clark_Memorial_Bridge" rel="nofollow">Clark Bridge</a>. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driftwood" rel="nofollow">Driftwood</a> in river, and foliage covered with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice" rel="nofollow">ice</a> and a little <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow" rel="nofollow">snow</a>. . Twin screw towboat "Helen B" (doc. # 577517, length 71 feet, breadth 24 feet, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel" rel="nofollow">Detroit Diesel</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_Series_149" rel="nofollow">12V-149</a> diesels, 1350 hp.). Built 1976 by <a href="http://shipbuildinghistory.com/shipyards/small/crumpler.htm" rel="nofollow">Crumpler's Shipbuilding Co.</a>, Orange, Texas. Originally named "Helen B" and owned by Jefferson Barracks Marine Service, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri. Sold at some point to Blank River Services (later <a href="https://intelligence.marinelink.com/companies/company/towline-river-services-inc-201981" rel="nofollow">Towline River Services</a>), Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, and renamed <a href="http://www.towboatgallery.com/Dave_Kreutzer-0577517.php?pic=2&tnc=1&mnu=2" rel="nofollow">"Dave Kreutzer"</a>. Still operating in 2018. . <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_River" rel="nofollow">Ohio River</a> mile 604. <a href="http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lmk&gage=mluk2" rel="nofollow">Upper gauge</a> = approx. 25 feet (flood stage is 23 feet). <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisville,_Kentucky" rel="nofollow">Louisville, Kentucky</a> Dec. 24, 1990. file # 90L072 . 35 mm negative (Fujicolor Super HG 400). |
