Looking NNW from near foot of Bingham Way. Towboat "O. H. Ingram" downbound at <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rogers_Clark_Memorial_Bridge" rel="nofollow">Clark Bridge</a>. Flagstaff is lowered to clear bridge. . Twin screw towboat "O. H. Ingram" (doc. # 664964, length 168 feet, breadth 42 feet, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_645" rel="nofollow">GM 16-645E5</a> diesels, 5600 hp. [later uprated to 6120 hp.?]). Built in 1982 (entered service in 1984) by <a href="http://shipbuildinghistory.com/shipyards/large/dravoboats.htm" rel="nofollow">Dravo Corp.</a>, Neville Island, Pennsylvania. Originally named "Acropolis", owned by Olympus Shipping Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, and operated by Spartan Transportation Corp., St. Louis, Missouri. In 1989, sold to <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingram_Barge_Company" rel="nofollow">Ingram Barge Co.</a>, Nashville, Tennessee, and renamed "O. H. Ingram". In 2008, the boat was renamed <a href="http://towboatgallery.com/Aaron_F_Barrett.php?pic=4&tnc=1&mnu=" rel="nofollow">"Aaron F. Barrett"</a>. Still operating in 2017. . <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_River" rel="nofollow">Ohio River</a> mile 604. <a href="http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lmk&gage=mluk2" rel="nofollow">Upper gauge</a> = approx. 25 feet (flood stage is 23 feet). <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisville,_Kentucky" rel="nofollow">Louisville, Kentucky</a> Dec. 24, 1990. file # 90L059 . 35 mm negative (Fujicolor Super HG 400). |
