| Description |
English: GOES-15 has been turned on for Imager and Sounder testing, just in time to capture its first tropical system. The NOAA National Hurricane Center is tracking the development of a tropical wave over the Yucatan Peninsula. An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is en route to investigate this system, and if it confirms the presence of a circulation advisories will be initiated this afternoon. This image is from GOES-15 at 1845Z on July 27, 2011. |
