Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_90189_20220913_183404.jpg Notes: מתחם התחנה נמצא בדרום ת"א. תחנת הרכבת הראשונה במזרח התיכון חוץ ממצרים וטורקיה. פעלה בשנים 1892–1948 כתחנת הקצה של מסילת יפו–ירושלים. הייתה בין שכונת מנשייה הערבית לשכונת נווה צדק היהודית. הקו חסך את הנסיעה הקשה בעגלות לירושלים, שכללה תשלום מס לשלטונות ותשלום דמי חסות לשודדים. הקו תרם בעיקר להתפתחות היישוב הערבי. בעיקר היו נוסעים לא יהודים. בימי המנדט הבריטי, קו הרכבת, שעבר בעיקר דרך יישובים ערביים נתפס כפרויקט עוין לתנועה הציונית, שראתה בו כמונופול בריטי המבוסס על העסקת עובדים ערבים.(ויקיפדיה)
