Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_89775_DSC01798.JPG Notes: התחנה הוקמה על ידי הרכבת המנדטורית בשנת 1920 כחלק ממיזם הארכת שלוחת רכבת האלונים העות'מאנית עד לתחנת הרכבת חיפה מזרח, על מנת ליצור קישור מסילתי נוח בין חיפה ללוד וממנה לתל אביב, לירושלים ודרומה למצרים.תחנת חדרה מזרח המשיכה לשרת רכבות ספורות בקו חיפה - ירושלים שנסעו על המסילה המזרחית עד שנת 1968, אז הופסק לחלוטין שירות הנוסעים בקו והתחנה נסגרה. בתחום התחנה קיימים מספר מבנים לשימור: מבנה התחנה, מגדל המים, מגדל שמירה ועמדת שמירה משנת 1944
