Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_89735_20220824_130913.jpg Notes: בשל היות הנזירות איטלקיות, לאחר פרוץ מלחמת העולם השנייה והצטרפות איטליה לגרמניה הנאצית בשנת 1939, הפקיעו שלטונות המנדט הבריטי את המבנה. בין השנים 1939- 1948 פעל בקומה העליונה של המבנה בית דין צבאי בריטי. על מנת להגן על המבנה מפני המחתרות (ההגנה, האצ"ל והלח"י) נאטמו חלונות המבנה, והוקמו סביבו מבני שמירה. לאחר מלחמת העצמאות שימש המבנה (בדומה למבנה קולג' טרה סנטה) את האוניברסיטה העברית. כיום משמש המבנה בחלקו כמנזר ובחלקו כמשרדי האוניברסיטה העברית.
