English: Looking N from just west of intersection of Clay St. and River Road.

Metro Salvage Corp. scrap metal yard at left. Cement silos at Missouri Portland Cement Terminal (acquired by Lafarge in 1991), right of center. Grain silos at Gold Proof Terminal at right. Big Four Bridge in distance. Ohio River mile 603. Louisville, Kentucky. January 1988. File # 88a059.

I believe this was once the site of the E.T. Slider Sand and Gravel Co. There was a sternwheel towboat named "E.T. Slider" (T0663 in Way's Steam Towboat Directory), built in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in 1900 and dismantled in 1914. There are some pictures of the "E.T. Slider" as well as the "C.C. Slider" (T0312; named for Chester C. Slider, son of E.T. Slider) in the UW-La Crosse Historic Steamboat Photographs collection. Click on the "Search the Collection" link, then enter the boat name in the box. . 35 mm Kodachrome. Plustek OpticFilm 7600i and Silverfast 8. Picture Window 6.
