English: Looking NE from Kentucky bank just below JFK Bridge near former site of Marine Welding (unrelated to the Greenville boat builder of that name).
Towboat "James L. Williams" (doc. # 511120) upbound with tank barge "CBC 261" (later renamed "Kirby 23850") between JFK and Big Four Bridges. Numbers on JFK Bridge pier indicate vertical clearance in feet between water and bottom of bridge. Jeffboat in distance, right of center. Ohio River mile 603. Louisville, Kentucky. January 1988. File # 88a030. . "James L. Williams" (120x35, twin GM 16-645C2 diesels, repowered 1990, 3600 hp) was built in 1967 by Greenville Manufacturing & Machine Works, Greenville, Mississippi. The boat was (and as of mid-2013 still is) owned by Southern Towing Co., Memphis, Tennessee. In 1989, it was renamed "Larry Tilley". . 35 mm Kodachrome. Plustek OpticFilm 7600i and Silverfast 8.
