Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_88840_20220802_102748.jpg Notes: הרב יצחק אייזיק הלוי הרצוג 3 בדצמבר 1888 – 25 ביולי 1959 היה הרב הראשי האשכנזי של ארץ ישראל משנת 1936, ואחר כך של מדינת ישראל עד יום מותו. לפני כן היה רבה הראשי של יהדות אירלנד. דוקטור וחתן פרס ישראל לספרות תורנית בשנת 1958.הרב הרצוג היה המייסד של מכון יד הרב הרצוג (שנקרא על שמו רק לאחר מותו). מכון זה אחראי להוצאת האנציקלופדיה התלמודית והוצאה מדעית של תלמוד בבלי שמוגה על פי כתבי יד שונים (מכון התלמוד הישראלי השלם). כמו כן יזם את הקמת הבניין החדש של הרבנות הראשית - "היכל שלמה",(ויקיפדיה)
