Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_88624_DSC01620.JPG Notes: הלבני נולד בגליציה למשפחה חסידית. עלה לארץ ישראל ב-1920 במסגרת תנועת השומר הצעיר, הצטרף לגרעין ההכשרה של בית אלפא, אשר חבריו עסקו בעבודות תשתית כגון סלילת כבישים. הלבני נפצע בעבודת פיצוץ סלעים לצורך הנחת קו מים לקיבוץ גבע, והתעוור בעינו השמאלית.ב-1940 חל פילוג בבית אלפא בעקבות משבר בין חברי מפא"י לחברי השומר הצעיר, במסגרת פילוג זה נערכו חילופי חברים עם קיבוץ רמת יוחנן. הלבני היה בין העוברים לרמת יוחנן, אשר היה לביתו לשארית חייו. ברמת יוחנן עסק תחילה בעיצוב קישוטי חג הפסח והגדת הפסח של הקיבוץ.
