Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_88456_DSC01272.JPG Notes: בשנת 1837 פקדה את צפת רעידת אדמה קשה שהחריבה את רוב מבני העיר ושליחים יצאו למדינות רבות לאסוף כספים לבניית העיר מחדש. בעקבות שליחים אלו החליט מאיר ארזוני, שגר בפרס, לעבור לצפת ולעזור לשיקום העיר. ארזוני היה צורף במקצועו אך מכיוון שלא היה ביקוש למקצוע זה בעיר, הוא למד מערביי העיר את מלאכת הגיבון ופתח מחלבה. ארזוני רכש בית גדול מעל לנביעת מעיין (ממנו מתמלא מקווה האר"י), חצב חדרים נוספים אל תוך הסלע, וכך הנכס שימש כבית המשפחה למעלה ומחלבה מתחת לאדמה.לפני 1948 שכן במבנה גם מועדון של תנועת בית"ר.
