Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_88181_נשר רמלה.jpg Notes: מחצבת נשר רמלה. מחצבת סלע גיר ענקית השייכת למפעל המלט נשר רמלה. סלע הגיר הוא חומר הגלם העיקרי לייצור מלט. עומק המחצבה כ-100 מ' מתחת לפני השטח שהיה במקום לפני החציבה. במחצבה נחשפו והושמדו חללים קרסטיים רבים, פרופ' עמוס פרומקין העריך כי כמות החללים באזור גבוהה בסדר גודל מכמות החללים שנצפית בדרך כלל ביחידות סלע מקבילות. בשנת 1997 נהרג במחצבה מפעיל הצמ"ה חסון פארס ז"ל שהפעיל D9 מעל מערה שלא היה ידוע על קיומה. עם התקדמות עבודתו של פארס, תקרת המערה הלכה והדקקה עד לקריסתה. פארס וה-D9 צנחו לתוך המערה,
