Towboats "Susan C. McBride" (doc. # 241557) and "Georgia M" (doc. # 569840) upbound with cement barges.

Ohio River mile 604. Louisville, Kentucky. Oct. 1987. File # 87j058.

Twin screw towboat "Susan C. McBride" (148x31, F-M diesels, repowered 1971, 3400 hp) built 1942 by Calumet Ship Yard & Dry Dock Co., Chicago, Illinois. Originally "Tri-State", owned by Ashland Oil & Refining Co. Had first radar on inland rivers, 1946. Sold 1960 to Reliable Towing Co., renamed "Reliable". Sold 1965 to Tennessee Towing, Inc., Memphis, TN. Sold 1968 to Elk Towing Co., Point Pleasant, WV, and renamed "Diane Bosworth" later that year. Sold 1970 to M/G Transport Services, Inc., Cincinnati, OH. Transferred later in 1970 to Jeffboat, Inc., Jeffersonville, IN. Sold 1971 to McBride Towing Co., Inc., Harrods Creek, KY, and renamed "Susan C. McBride". Documentation expired 2012.
