Description

Towboat "C. J. Bryan" upbound (?).

Twin screw towboat "C. J. Bryan" (doc. # 577912, length 140 feet, breadth 42 feet, GM 16-645E7 diesels, 5600 hp.) Built in 1976 by Dravo Corp., Neville Island, Pennsylvania. Originally operated by Indiana Michigan Power Co., Lakin, West Virginia, a division of American Electric Power, Columbus, Ohio. In 2003, the boat was renamed "Capt. John Reynolds". In 2008, the river operations of Indiana Michigan Power Co. were combined with those of the MEMCO Barge Line (which AEP had bought in 2001) and renamed AEP River Operations LLC, Chesterfield, Missouri.
