Summary

[edit]
Description
English: As seen in March 2021: the apartment building at 857 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, New York. Built in 1901 on what was heretofore the site of the home of furniture manufacturer Willis K. Morey, this three-story brick edifice is a particularly ornate example of the Colonial Revival style, sporting a fanlight above the front entrance whose elegant tracery is echoed in the transoms above the second-floor windows behind the wrought-iron balconet, cut stone lintels above the windows with keystone and block motif, and Classical detailing that's especially prominent toward the roofline, where you'll find a dentil row, mullion-bracketed cornice, and parapet with carved stone panels. The building remains a prestigious address today, with seven units containing such amenities as hardwood floors, working fireplaces, in-unit washer and dryer, and covered onsite parking.
