Title
817 Annular buckle.jpg
Description
English: Cast copper alloy annular buckle, diameter 50mm, thickness 4mm, weight 28.69g. The frame has a circular cross-section 4mm diameter although thickness does undulate.
Sheet copper alloy pin, length 54mm, width 7mm, thickness 4mm. The attachment end has been bet into a circle on order to be attached it to the frame of the buckle. In front of the attachment loop is a rectangular plate with five stamped decorative rings, and the terminal of the pin is slightly concave where it would rest on the frame of the buckle.
The artefact is in a poor condition, the entire original surface has corroded away leaving a dark brown rough surface. This brooch dates to the 1250-1500.
