Description

The Ouray Building, 805 G Street, NW, 5/20/06 "Washington Times".

One of several D.C. office buildings erected by Colorado mining magnate Thomas F. Walsh, the Ouray was built in 1906 and razed ca. 1985 despite a concerted effort by Don't Tear It Down, Inc. (now the D.C. Preservation League) to save it. Walsh's Colorado Building still stands at 1341 G Street, NW.
