Description 80-G-79412: German U-boat incident #3992, August 9, 1943. German submarine, U 664, sinking after an attack by Lieutenant Junior Grade G.G. Hogan, USNR. Forty-four survivors were picked up and taken on board USS Card (CVE 11). Note the oil slick from the sinking submarine. (8/18/2015).
