Summary

[edit]
Description 80-G-46567: The Sea Hag is home to 200 Navy Seabees in the Central Pacific. It is 1,500-ton lighter anchored in the harbor and converted into a “houseboat”. Field ranges were aligned and affixed to the deck to serve as a galley; a double effect salt water evaporator supplied fresh water. Hatches were cut and companionways made; steel bunks and bulkheads added “shape” to the “shipshape.” Released October 14, 1944. U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
