Summary

[edit]
Description

734 & 732 Broadway, between Astor Place and West 4th Street, across from Waverly Place, in Manhattan, New York City.

  • 734 Broadway (left) was built in 1873-73, designed by D. & J. Jardine (David Jardine and John Jardine), in the Neo-Grec style
  • 732 Broadway (right) was built prior to 1854 and altered in 1900 by Bruno W. Berger in Renaissance Revival style; the name "Treffurth's" appears in script at the top: Treffurth's Restaurant and Cafe leased the building after the 1900 alteration. The building probably began in the early 19th century as a 3 1/2 story peaked house and was raised to four stories in 1885.
