English: Copper alloy, cast Dolphin brooch, with hinged mechanism, cylindrical wings, the right wing has a nick taken out of the terminal. Band of beading runs around the circumference of the wing closest to the head, this is followed be a section with a narrowed waist. The wings are hollow and hold the pin support bar, which in turn hold that pin in place, the pin is complete. On the top of the head there is a crest that runs down the length of the bow, with a second ridge running down either side for the entire length. The catch plate is complete with a decorative hole cut into that top part. The artefacts is good condition with the original dark green patina surviving over almost the entire surface, there are two small patches of light green corrosion on the foot and catch plate. Overall dimensions are length 55mm, width 34mm, thickness 6mm, weight 22.45g. These are dated to 100-200AD.
