Title
7094C4, Post Medieval looped fitting
Description
English: Dress fitting, oval with a rectangular loop at one end and a kidney shaped protrusion to each side. Either side of the loop, and at the distal end, are small loops for sewing the fitting onto a garment. The main field is inlaid with enamel, the design now difficult to interpret but appears to have consisted of round sided triangles separated by bands of undecorated metal. The main colour was pale blue but two oval fields may have contained green enamel which is more degraded than the blue. Around the main panel is a band inlaid with what appears to have been white enamel, traces of which are present elsewhere on the object. The back is plain.
