Description
Français : À gauche des marches extérieures menant au palais Verdun, on trouve une sculpture représentant Jean Marie Etienne Portalis (1746-1807). Portalis a participé à la rédaction du code civil sous la direction de Cambacéres. Sur la droite de l'escalier, c'est Il s’agit de Joseph-Jérôme Siméon (1749-1842), avocat aixois qui lui aussi a participé à la rédaction du code civil.Ces deux statues sont l'œuvre de Joseph Marius Ramus (1805-1888). Elles ont été inaugurées le 8 novembre 1847.
