Title
6C51D5 buckle plate
Description
English: Medieval? copper alloy buckle plate, 28mm long, 18mm wide and 3mm thick. The object weighs 2.62 grams, has a blue green patina and is in fair condition. The plate is rectangular and has been folded over at one end so that two thirds of its length is showing at the front. The front of the plate is simply decorated with a border of two incised lines 1mm apart and 2mm in from the edge. At the folded end there is a central hole, 3mm in diameter, which goes through both sheets. This probably held the buckle pin. At the other end are traces of a hole in each corner. The reverse side has a rounded end with two small holes in each side about 3mm in.
