By Jennifer Rubin October 4 "Kushner, you will recall, has a host of potential legal problems stemming from participation in a meeting with Russian officials at Trump Tower during the campaign; a meeting with the head of a sanctioned Russian bank during the transition; encouragement for the president to fire Comey (an action that may be considered obstruction of justice) and failure to disclose all his foreign contacts on his security clearance forms. For Jared, the White House job is a distraction from having to worry about how his family's business is going to pay off the $1.2 billion mortgage on 666 Fifth Ave. He grossly overpaid for the property in 2006. At the time it was the highest price ever paid for an individual building in Manhattan, at $1.8 billion. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2017/10/04/jar... October 4, 2017, "Two former heads of the Central Intelligence Agency said Russia probably didn’t have the ability to microtarget U.S. voters and districts in the 2016 presidential campaign on its own, meaning some sort of assistance would have been necessary. "It is not intuitively obvious that they could have done this themselves," former CIA director Michael Hayden said in an interview Wednesday in Washington. Michael Morell, who spent his career at the CIA including a stint as acting director of the agency, said in a separate interview that Russia either needed someone to help give it information on microtargeting or stole the necessary information, such as through hacking. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-04/russia-needed-... |
