Description

DB Schenker's class 66 (JT42CWR) number 66119 in English, Welsh and Scottish Railway maroon with zigzag gold band working 4E26 from Dollands Moor sidings to Scunthorpe Redbourne sidings on 1 August 2014 having traveled down from Doncaster Belmont Yard at 0O28 (66119 WBAT DONCBELMD 220O28C731 4 * DOLLANDSM N 4E26). The 4E26 service returns empty FIA 'Multifret' twin intermodal flat wagons used to transport steel for export in billet form from Tata Steels Scunthorpe complex on South Humberside in Lincolnshire (see Andy Pictons photo <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/98929239@N03/14032630236/in/photostream/">www.flickr.com/photos/98929239@N03/14032630236/in/photost...</a>) to a freight yard at Ebange in Eastern France via Dollands Moor and Calais Fréthun through the Channel Tunnel. Once in Ebange the steel is used at Tata's Hayange rail mill to produce rail for SNCF's LGV Est européenne construction programme to extend the French high-speed rail network. Some of the DB Schenker (with EWS branding) FIA 'Multifret' twin intermodal flat wagons were identified as 31 70 4938 726 7, 33 70 4938 724 0 (<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/99279135@N05/14803477652/">www.flickr.com/photos/99279135@N05/14803477652/</a>), 31 70 4938 512 1, 31 70 4938 157 5, 31 70 4938 704 4, 31 70 4938 130-2, 33 70 4938 307 4, 31 70 4938 333 2, 31 70 4938 147-6 and 31 70 4938 334 0. 66119 was built by General Motors EMD, London, Ontario, Canada in 1999 and unloaded from the Heavy Lift Ship MV "Gajah Borneo" at Newport Docks on 20 June 1999.
